Our New York Trip - March 2012

Phil's Mother and Step Dad took us on a trip to New York to celebrate Phil's retirement from HAFB and our 18th anniversary.  We had a wonderful time and we are very grateful for their generosity.

 We visited the 911 Memorial

All the names of the people killed were engraved around these water falls

Dottie and Jim at the Memorial

It was nice to see that a couple of places were named after our family members.  McFadden's and Madison

The Toys R Us Store was pretty awesome.  It even had an indoor farris wheel

We had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe.  Wonderful food and entertainment!

We all went to a Broadway Musical called "Jersey Boys"  It was excellent!

We took a two hour bus tour all around the city of Manhatten which showed us all highlights of New York

It started sprinkeling a little and Jim needed a little help getting his rain covering on.

They had some beautiful parks in the city

 We visited Grand Central Terminal

There were taxi cabs everywhere!  That's how we got around when it was to far to walk.

We spent an afternoon in Central Park.  It was very busy and lot's of people

This is where they film Good Morning America.  I listen to this every morningwhile I get ready for work.

 More of Time Square

 Empire State Building

We stayed at the Helmsey Hotel.  It was very nice and we had a wonderful breakfast there every morning.

This is the view from our hotel room  We were on the 33rd floor

 More taxi cabs

Cemetary right in the middle of the city

Dottie was very anxious to have one the their famous New York Hot Dogs!

And of course we could not go home without trying their awesome New York Cheesecake.  Yummmmm!

It was so good that we even brought some home with us.

Cute Pictures of Dottie and Jim

Following are just some cute pictures of eveyone enjoying themselves

And then before we knew it, it was time to say goodby and head home.  Thank you so much Dottie and Jim for a wonderful trip that we will never forget!

Fun times! Mom, you are so pretty and your hair is getting long! It looks like you all enjoyed the trip. New York looks so big compared to tiny Stephenville, haha :) I would like to go there someday too, maybe that's where Cinemark will move us next!
